With 15 miles of sandy beach from Winterton-on-Sea to Hopton-on-Sea, Great Yarmouth has a number of options to choose from. The Central Beach is between Britannia and Wellington Piers. Perfect for families, there are lots of activities for kids with a promenade packed with shops, cafes and ice-cream vendors running alongside it. If you’re staying with your pup, Central Beach is unfortunately not dog friendly but they are welcome either side of the piers.

Cromer Beach

Banham Zoo

Banham Zoo is a well-known wildlife park that’s home to over 2,000 animals from around the world. Getting Around Norfolk

Public transport in Norfolk is a convenient, scenic, and sustainable way to explore the county’s many attractions. Whether you’re catching a bus to the beach, hopping on a train to explore historic towns, or taking a boat trip through the Broads, the transport network has you covered for your days out in Norfolk!

Buses in Norfolk

The bus network in Norfolk is extensive, providing services that connect both urban centres and more rural areas. First Eastern Counties and Konectbus are the two main bus operators in Norfolk, offering routes that make it easy to travel between popular destinations, including Norwich, Great Yarmouth, and the North Norfolk coast.

If you’re staying in or near Norwich, the Park and Ride service is a convenient way to get into the city centre. With sites located on the outskirts of Norwich, it allows you to park your car for free and hop on a bus that takes you right into the heart of the city, avoiding traffic and parking issues.

For those staying in our holiday lets in more remote parts of the county, services such as Flexibus offer demand-responsive transport. This pre-booked service covers areas where regular bus services are limited, making it easier to reach nearby towns or attractions.

Trains in Norfolk

The National Cycle Network routes, such as Route 1 (which passes through Norwich and along the coast), provide safe and scenic pathways for cyclists. Many buses and trains in Norfolk are bike-friendly, allowing you to combine cycling with public transport to reach more remote holiday destinations or attractions.

Boat Travel in Norfolk

Norfolk is unique in that it also offers transport by boat, especially within the Norfolk Broads, a network of rivers and lakes that wind through the countryside.
