Walking distance to the metro and seafront. Few minutes to great restaurants in town or at the seafront. Street parking always available.
Apartment is on 3rd floor so quite a few stairs.

Decoration standards and short-term necessities met. Prime location close to local amenities, restaurants, and entertainment hotspots.

There are serious health and safety concerns that require immediate investigation. They include but are not limited to: slips, trips and falls hazards, infestation, exposed carpet tacks, lack of ventilation or method of cooling the property, etc. We are happy to share the details with the owner or with booking.com upon request.

Complaints include lack of fan or air conditioning unit, lack of dryer for clothes, mattress condition, and no step-by-step instructions on how to use British boiler systems.

Fabulous location. Whitley Bay and surrounding area is lovely with lots of coffee and eating options.
We didn't need the car at all as the Metro service is great.
The apartment is perfect and is way more spacious than the photographs depict.
I would go back in a heartbeat.

Nothing!

If I could buy the apartment I would!!!
Amazing 4 week stay, felt safe and secure and just like home.
Advertised as having a washing machine and dryer but no dryer so I bought an airer.
Couldn’t have asked for anything more.
Spotlessly clean, hard to believe the oven had even been used before!
Will be recommending to friends and family who visit the area.

It was close to the venue I was visiting, grocery stores, and restaurants. The internet was great. Very clean and comfortable.
The neighbour on the first floor was very friendly and helpful.

It would be nice to have a clothes drying rack to go with the washing machine.

This place was so cosy, we absolutely loved staying here. Clean rooms over all, however we did have to wash all the pots/pans/dishes and cutlery before use, but overall for the price we paid we were very happy with the stay.

The apartment was clean and well presented. Close to the shops pubs etc.

It was like it was for a solo traveller. Far too many steps to the apartment. Also asking for far too much money before hand £250 is way too much

Tiny but well equipped garret flat - perfect for a solo traveller

The flat is very close to the front, the town centre and the metro station, but the street is not the nicest area.
the smoke alarm broke during my stay and kept going off at random intervals (including at 6am), which was both dangerous and very irritating. An e mail to Host and Stay to try to resolve the issue was completely ignored - I still haven’t had a response several days after the end of my stay!

A beautiful appartment in an excellent location for the beach, Whitley Bay town centre and Whitley Bay metro station. It was lovely to be able to see both the sea and the Spanish City from the apartment. The apartment was so clean and comfortable, and I felt very much at home for my nine-night stay. Thank you so much to the host!

The apartment is fabulous. It is smallish but very tastefully decorated and very well equipped. It suits a single or a couple perfectly. I loved being able to cook and sit at a table by the window. It is very cosy - I guess you'd call it an attic flat (there are some stairs up to the flat) and you can look up and down the street from the windows and even catch a glimpse of sea. It is literally a minute's walk from the sea and a few minutes walk to the centre of Whitley Bay and the Metro. It has everything you'd need, even a washing machine. It was very quiet and the bed was very comfortable. I loved staying there.

The property was offered by an owner through Host and Stay. Host and Stay is an accommodation company that uses Booking dot com to rent out properties - so there are at least two layers of internet bureaucracy in play here. The process of dealing with Host and Stay was a bit irritating and expensive - they ask you to pay approx $450 (AUD) security deposit up front and charge you $20 admin fee for doing this (I say approx throughout this review as the charges are quoted in UK pounds but I work in dollars). The security deposit is refunded after your stay but the admin charge isn't. The only alternative to this is to just pay them an approx $50 damage waiver, which you don't get back at all. They also charge a cleaning fee of approx $100 and another admin fee of approx $50 just for booking the accommodation. Trying to get in touch with "the property" by phone via the number provided on Booking dot com is difficult as you are sent to a call centre that sounds like it is in the Philippines - the service here was ok but limited in scope, and it isn't really the owner of the property you're speaking to (who, when I did get to her was very nice and helpful). Finally, after moving into the property, I wanted to extend my stay by 3 days. Amazingly, it is not possible to do this on Booking dot com, you have to create a whole new booking - which, with Hosts and Stays, means you have to pay another cleaning fee and another admin fee and they start asking you for the security deposit all over again. After a bit of back and forth, and with the real owner's help, I was able to get the second cleaning fee refunded and didn't have to pay the security deposit a second time, but Booking dot com/Host and Stay still charged me the admin fee again. Last point, any change or query that involves Hosts and Stays triggers a LOT of email updates.

Nice apartment, well decorated and on the top (third) floor of a residential building, so many stairs. Clean and spacious, double bed comfortable, kitchen fine. Things to watch: parking is NOT INCLUDED, some Airbnbs in the area provide a temporary parking permit, this one doesn't. Cost to park is 2p a minute (£2 an hour) (2023). Boiler needs to be switched on (in kitchen cupboard), it was off on arrival. But it was a decent choice and quite close to centre of Whitley Bay and the sea. Niggles: As this is not hosted by the owner, we had a damage waiver to pay the agents before getting the details of the place, postcode and the code for the key safe - all extra hassle. In preference, for a short stay, we would go to a hotel in future. Overall, not at all bad but.........I would prefer an owner managed property.
